BIPM–COOMET UTC Summer School: Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer in Time and Frequency Metrology

28 Sep 2026

The BIPM–COOMET UTC Summer School is taking place from 28 to 30 September 2026, focusing on current topics in time and frequency metrology.

The Summer School is organized in cooperation with the BIPM, COOMET and UzNIM, with sponsorship from IEEE UFFC. The programme brings together 31 representatives from 25 countries, including 11 speakers and 20 training participants.

The programme addresses current challenges in the generation, comparison and dissemination of UTC and UTC(k) time scales, high-precision time and frequency measurement, and metrological traceability. Lectures and practical sessions also cover atomic clocks, GNSS-based time and frequency transfer, measurement uncertainty evaluation, statistical analysis and modern technologies in this field.

The combination of theoretical and practical sessions provides opportunities for direct exchange of knowledge and experience between speakers and participants.

The BIPM–COOMET UTC Summer School continues COOMET activities in capacity building and knowledge transfer, supporting professional competence and international cooperation in time and frequency metrology.
