COOMET and EASC Strengthen Partnership in Metrology

Within the framework of the 69th Meeting of the Euro-Asian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC), COOMET President Lazizbek Saidoripov and EASC Chairman Aibek Musaev signed the updated Protocol on Cooperation and Interaction between COOMET and EASC in the Field of Metrology.

The signing of the Protocol reaffirms the mutual commitment of COOMET and EASC to further strengthen their partnership, enhance coordination and implement joint initiatives in metrology. The updated document establishes a modern framework for collaboration aimed at advancing regional cooperation, harmonizing approaches and making more effective use of the expertise and capabilities of both organizations.

The Protocol covers a broad range of areas, including the implementation of the CIPM MRA, support for Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMCs), development of national measurement standards, comparisons, normative documents and reference measurement procedures, cooperation in reference materials, evaluation of measurement uncertainty, and professional training. Particular attention is given to joint scientific and technical projects, exchange of experience and support for young metrologists.

The Protocol also provides for regular coordination between the working bodies of COOMET and EASC, creating additional opportunities to implement joint initiatives and further strengthen regional cooperation in metrology.
