On 11 August 2026, the 23rd meeting of COOMET Technical Committee TCL “Length and Angle” took place in a hybrid format at UNIIM, a branch of VNIIM, in Yekaterinburg.
Representatives of COOMET member institutions from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Türkiye and Uzbekistan participated in the meeting.
Konstantin Chekirda, Chairperson of TCL, presented information on the activities of the Technical Committee. Participants also considered information from the COOMET Secretariat, the outcomes and decisions of the 30th meeting of the COOMET Joint Committee for Measurement Standards, and other matters related to TCL activities.
A significant part of the agenda focused on COOMET projects and international comparisons in geometrical measurements. Participants reviewed ongoing projects covering length, plane angle, diameter measurements, surface roughness and other areas, as well as proposals for new comparisons.
The TCL work programme was updated. AzMI, BelGIM, KazStandard and UzNIM presented initiatives for organizing comparisons.
Participants also addressed implementation of the CIPM MRA, long-running comparisons, intra- and interregional CMC review through KCDB 2.0, and the updating of the list of technical experts.
The agenda also covered development of national measurement standards, CEEMS proposals for training seminars and further organizational matters related to TCL.
The meeting included the election of the Chairperson of TCL. The current Chairperson, Konstantin Chekirda, was elected for a new term.
The meeting continued COOMET’s systematic work to strengthen cooperation among its member institutions in length and angle measurements, international comparisons and international recognition of metrological capabilities.
