COOMET Technical Committee TCQM “Physical Chemistry” Held Its Regular Meeting

On 2–3 July 2026, the regular meeting of the COOMET Technical Committee TCQM “Physical Chemistry” was held in Saint Petersburg at the D.I. Mendeleyev Institute for Metrology (VNIIM) with the participation of representatives of COOMET member institutions and designated experts.

The agenda included issues related to the decisions of the COOMET Committee and the President’s Council, the outcomes of the latest meeting of the COOMET Joint Committee for Measurement Standards (JCMS), as well as the activities of TCQM in 2025–2026 and the implementation of decisions adopted at the previous meeting.

The participants considered issues related to the participation of committee representatives in the activities of international and regional metrology organizations, the submission and review of CMCs in the KCDB, the status of ongoing COOMET projects in the field of metrology in chemistry and biology, and proposals for new areas of cooperation.

Particular attention was given to reports from the chairpersons of the subcommittees on Electrochemistry, Metals and Alloys, Inorganic Analysis, Gas Analysis, Organic Analysis, Bioanalysis, Particle Characterization and Isotope Analysis.

On the second day of the meeting, presentations on the current state of metrological activities in the field of chemistry and biology within COOMET member institutions were delivered. The participants also considered proposals for updating the lists of technical experts for CMC review and QMS assessment, as well as organizational matters and the draft meeting resolution.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of further developing cooperation and coordinating activities in the field of metrology in chemistry and biology within COOMET.
